- Psychic, Mystical Mentor, Symbologist,
Shamanic Tattoo Artist, Author and Public Speaker, -
Kris Donoma is an entrepreneur and modern medicine woman.
Her mission is helping people aligning with their essence and their own prophecy. She focus on leading them discover their physical and psychic gifts to pursue their life purpose through archetypal mentorship, psychic readings and shamanic healing sessions. Coming from the world of cartoon animation and stand up comedy, all her work is seasoned with humor snd lightness.
Since childhood, the world of the invisible has knocked at her door, manifesting through mediumship and premonitory abilities. She worked for years as an art therapist with Aboriginal people with schizophrenia, gaining the opportunity to explore their “invisible gifts.” Simultaneously, she brought her Shamanic Tattoo Art to major festivals around the world, including the “NZ Spirit Festival” and the “Earth Beat Festival” in New Zealand.
A creature between the two words: spirituality and multimedia
With a past as a former screenwriter for a Disney Italia animation production and team leader of the cartoon Kilo’s Mind (present on social platforms), now Kris Donoma is a Symbologist, Archetypal Mentor, Holistic Art Therapist with digital orientation, shamanic tattoo artist and author.
Since she can remember, she has always been accompanied by a strong constant creativity and particular skills such as mediums and premonitory dreams.
These two characteristics of her have led her to want to help others find their “superpowers” and personal hidden creative flame.
Through various shamanic courses and the school of Holistic Art Therapy she has developed both technical and spiritual knowledge that allows her to assist others on their journey towards the complete realisation of themselves and their spiritual and practical potential.
It works on two fronts:
–One to one: with treatments aimed at healing the body, mind and spirit specific to the client such as Shamanic tattoos, symbology healing treatments and Archetypal mentoring.
–Collective: with workshops such as “the initiatory journey”, “Shamanism and art therapy”, “Animation for the soul” live and online, etc and with published books including “The scream of the lasts“, a book about her experience with aboriginal people.
Born into a family extremely oriented towards self-irony and laughter, with her background as an entertainer and her occasional leap onto the stage as a stand-up comedian, her passion for humor and her lack of taking life seriously, all the his approach has the scent of that sense of lightness and fun. As someone whose name I don’t remember said: “Laughter is the voice of God”, so let’s make this poor fellow laugh.
A past as an Animator with Kilo's Mind
It was 2013 when the adventure as an animator began. Having abandoned the Laba Academy of Arts (Brescia) because it was too expensive, she decided to leave for a wandering adventure around Europe. From the incredible and grotesque situations I came across, I decided to create a container that contained all these episodes and characters along the way. Thus “Kilos’Mind” was born, a sort of all-Italian South Park. Seeing her country from afar made me realise how much there was to change in the system. So it is precisely here that this irreverent cartoon was born. Back in Italy in 2015 I met my future best friend and trusted collaborator and series producer Federico Turani.
From there, our strength and alchemy has attracted a series of incredible creatures including the third member of the team as well as sound designer Francesco Zuccarello.
Followed by another dozen splendid professionals including voice actors, graphic designers, social media managers.
After launching the series on Instagram and YouTube, after less than a month we attracted the attention of the National TV Rai which proposed us to create an ok program for young boys called “Kilo’s Early Show”.
At the same time, Kris worked on other tenders proposing other products such as “Donoma”, the young girl who champions nature.
And in November 2019 she won a competition to be part of an Italian Disney production: “Pio Rock”, in the Animoka studio in Turin as a cartoon screenwriter.
And there, right on top of her mountain of hers, dreamed of since she was little, she destroyed it. Being in front of the computer for about 10 hours a day was not her destiny.
So she took off and left for Australia, abandoning the greatest opportunity of her life to embrace the unknown, and there was no more right decision.
Kris continues to maintain a great relationship with the team in Italy who are available for future exchanges with Australia to teach animation to the Aboriginal community.
Her goal now is have two associations, one in Broome (north west Australia) and one in Tuscany (Italy) to do exchanges of aborginal and Italian artists.
The Donoma's Project
Arrived in Australia, the love for this land has totally enraptured her. This pristine land looked exactly like the land described in the aforementioned Donoma Project.Little by little Kris felt more and more like the character Donoma, the young girl engaged in safeguarding the earth, from which she then took her name.
So, having arrived in Broome, she immediately contacted the greatest environmental activist in that area: Bart Pigram.
Finding themselves on the same wavelength about this great mission of bringing nature and its importance under the eyes of a large audience, they decide to collaborate on an animated mixed media documentary where Donoma interviews indigenous people from all over the world.
They have collaborated with Mark Jones, an important documentary maker from the Kimberley, Camden Luketina, videomaker of Goolarri Media between Perth and Broome and Sam Muller, an aspiring film producer.
Now in possession of the pilot episode, Kris is looking for a television producer interested in the product.
Digital Art Therapy with aboriginal people
Kris, after qualifying as Holistic Art Therapist, she had the opportunity to teach art in a remote area to Aboriginal people with mental illness including schizophrenia. She had the privilege of knowing their culture, their yearnings and their hopes, of transforming their emotions into paintings, sculptures, songs and into real multimedia products such as small animations.
The two worlds: her philosophy
As mentioned in the previous chapter, Kris has chosen to drop her name for Kris Donoma.
Kris comess from Cristina, her name given to her by the family, Donoma is the Native American name that means girl facing the sun, a symbol of her tireless energy and optimism.
Donoma was chosen for the character of the series, but little by little she felt it more and more of her as she has always felt connected to Native American culture.
These two names are the emblem of the union of two worlds: the western one oriented on productivity and matter and the natural and spiritual world which concerns the subtle world and psychic abilities.
Her Philosophy lies in the bridge between these two worlds, which according to her are both necessary for the evolution of the human being.
If the human being is by nature a creative being, art and science have been the consequent result. Unfortunately, Western society focused on productivity at a syncopated level and as an end in itself, has forgotten the importance of the earth as a primary source of life. The arrogance of the human intellect has forgotten the respect for what nourishes and sustains it.
The solution lies in a balance between the two realities that apparently seems to be against each other but which are actually sides of the same coin. The step to take is that science and progress become servants of the heart, of what is ethically correct, respectful and compassionate.
If technological progress served the preservation of the nature and human rights,
the world could evolve to such an extent that it no longer needs such technology: the real technology is contained in our personal computer, the mind.
Unfortunately, humanity finds itself as always living in extremes, black or white. We range from fanaticism for technology to returning naked to nature refusing all that is progress.
It’s encouraging to observe a growing trend where figures from diverse sectors (scientists embracing spirituality, entrepreneurs prioritizing kindness, leaders committed to community well-being, or inventors dedicating their intellect to the planet’s health) are all shifting towards more holistic and compassionate approaches.
In a world where definitive answers are elusive, this shift steering us towards a promising future. Soon. we might see a society where harmony is not just an ideal, but a daily practice. This future envision humans reclaiming their psychic abilities, harnessing them not for selfish ends, but collective healing and empowerment.
This is the environment in which Kris Donoma thrives. She navigates the complex interplay of empowering others through their psychic abilities and talents while leveraging multimedia as a tool for individuals to discover and express their unique voices.
By giving this blend of technical and psychic knowledge to indigenous cultures, Kris helps to broadcast their planet-protective practices worldwide. This crucial for reaching these who are ensconced in the routines, providing them access to vital knowledge previously beyond their reach.
